What is the MCCA fee?
The Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association (MCCA) fee is mandated by the State of Michigan to cover medical expenses in excess of $250,000 due to injury incurred in an accident involving a vehicle. This fee is charged for each vehicle on the policy. It is paid to insurance companies, who then pay this fee directly to the state.

Why do you need my Social Security Number (SSN)?
Many insurance carriers use SSNs to gather policy holder's credit history information. Credit information may be used to help determine the cost of insurance. Using a SSN, ensures the insurance carrier is collecting accurate information on the appropriate individual.

Will having my insurance quoted
affect my credit rating?
No. When an insurance carrier requests your credit report, it appears as an "insurance inquiry". Credit score calculations, such as those used when applying for financing, exclude insurance inquiries as a determination factor.

What to expect when requesting
an insurance quote.
When you are requesting a quote for insurance coverage, you will be asked a number of questions. You should be prepared to provide your personal information, such as, your name, age, sex, address, etc., as well as detailed information about the item you wish to insure. For example, if you want auto insurance, you will be asked to provide the vehicle year, make, model, and vehicle identification number (VIN). If you want insurance for your home, details about your home will need to be provided. In addition, you may be asked questions about any previous insurance claims that you may have filed, or even details about your driving record. The type of coverage you are requesting, will determine the questions that you will be asked throughout the quote process.
