Lloyd F. Hutt Scholarship – Winter/Spring: Established in 1990, this scholarship program honors the legacy of Lloyd F. Hutt – teacher and founder of LMCU. Each year, we establish a question for high school seniors to answer in the form of an essay. Winning entries are celebrated and scholarships distributed in a luncheon ceremony the following spring. Band Together – Spring/Summer: Each year, LMCU hosts a fundraising campaign to benefit hospitals. During the campaign, we sell icons for display and allow opportunities for members and employees to donate. Every dollar raised benefits pediatric programs at hospitals in the communities we serve. One Pencil – Fall: At the start of each school year, we encourage members and employees to donate school supplies to teachers in need. Collection barrels are placed in each LMCU branch. Guided by teacher requests, LMCU employees assemble school supply materials and send them to teachers.

Holly Jolly Toy Drive – November/December: For the holidays each year, members and employees can donate toys by visiting any Lake Michigan Credit Union branch. Toys are collected and distributed to various organizations throughout our footprint – schools, hospitals and nonprofits.

Santa Squad – December: Consisting of employees from across our organization, the LMCU Santa Squad delivers holiday cheer in a variety of different ways across the state! Each day brings a new surprise and a way to give back to our communities. Be sure to follow us on social media to keep up with the Santa Squad during December.
