Lake Michigan Credit Union Hires Ellen Benton as Mortgage Loan Originator for Southwest Florida Market

GRAND RAPIDS, MI. (April 3, 2018) – Lake Michigan Credit Union (LMCU) is pleased to welcome Ellen Benton to its team as a mortgage loan originator for the southwest Florida market. She reports directly to Jane Malinowski, LMCU’s Vice President of Regional Mortgage Production-Florida.

Benton is a +30 year mortgage industry veteran, working as a loan officer for Florida Community Bank, Mutual of Omaha Bank, Wells Fargo and Sun Trust Mortgage. She currently works out of LMCU’s Bonita Springs branch, but will shortly be moving to a newly acquired branch at 2370 Vanderbilt Road in Naples, part of LMCU’s acquisition of Encore Bank.

She is excited to join LMCU’s growing mortgage team in southwest Florida. “My prior experience in processing and underwriting gives me valuable insight into the mortgage closing environment, and I use that knowledge to guide my clients forward. LMCU’s vast array of products was a real selling point for me, and I look forward to expanding our mortgage presence.”

Benton is originally from Youngstown, Ohio but has called Naples, Florida home for the past 30 years.
