Lake Michigan Credit Union (LMCU) is pleased to announce Angel M. of Spring Lake, Michigan, as the 2024 winner of LMCU’s annual $50,000 Home Makeover sweepstakes.
This year's sweepstakes had a record-breaking number of entries, with over 1.5 million submissions received online, at branch locations, and through LMCU ATMs between April 1 and July 5, 2023.
LMCU President and CEO, Julie Leonard, personally notified Angel of her win. “As a credit union founded on supporting our members’ lifelong financial journeys, it means so much to LMCU to be able to celebrate a longtime member like Angel," Leonard said. “From her checking account and credit card to her mortgage, Angel has been with LMCU every step of the way, so we’re proud to be at her side today, too.”
Angel and her family were presented with a $50,000 check at LMCU's Robbins Rd branch, as LMCU staff showered them with congratulations. Angel entered the sweepstakes every day, not just this year but each year since 2016. Now, she and her husband look forward to using the prize money to take on home projects that were put on the back burner after the birth of their second daughter.
“Remodeling our kitchen is high on the list, we want to put new windows on our kids’ playroom, and we’re close to needing a new roof,” Angel said. “Our sweepstakes winnings will allow us to complete some of these projects, giving us time back to spend with our little girls — which is the best gift in the world.”
