Grand Rapids, MI (August 20, 2025) – Lake Michigan Credit Union (LMCU) is pleased to announce Jim F. of Nunica, Michigan, as the 2025 winner of the credit union’s annual $50,000 Home Makeover Sweepstakes.
This year's sweepstakes once again broke LMCU’s record for total entries, with over 1.6 million submissions received online and at LMCU’s branches between April 1 and June 26, 2025.
LMCU President and CEO, Julie Leonard, got to tell Jim and his wife, Rhonda, about their win firsthand. “LMCU’s mission is to help all our members achieve their financial dreams for a lifetime," Leonard said, “and our annual $50,000 Home Makeover Sweepstakes speaks directly to this. Jim and Rhonda trust LMCU with their money, so now we’re proud to give back and help them kickstart their next big dream.”
Jim and Rhonda switched their banking to LMCU after being referred to one of our Grand Haven branches, having heard good things about LMCU’s Max Checking account. After trusting LMCU with their checking account, using the interest they earned to help pay off their mortgage, and faithfully entering the $50,000 Home Makeover Sweepstakes for the past three years, the couple are now ready to fund the expansion of their very own happy place.
“Our home has served us well over the years, but now we want more room for family time,” Jim said. “This $50,000 will be a huge help as we add a living room, a new bedroom, and a couple new bathrooms — our final plan should be ready to go this week!”
