LMCU Announces Key Changes to Commercial Lending Leadership

Lake Michigan Credit Union (LMCU) is pleased to announce a pair of promotions that will reorient the credit union’s Commercial Lending team toward continued success.

LMCU has promoted Dan McLean to Chief Commercial Officer, with McLean bringing over 30 years of commercial lending experience to his new role. He’s spent nearly 15 of those years at LMCU as a trusted leader — one whose thoughtful approach to collaboration and community has strengthened the organization’s credit quality and expanded its market presence across both Michigan and Florida.

McLean’s new position comes at the same time as Pete Rahrig’s promotion to Senior Vice President Commercial Lending Executive. An 11-year mainstay at LMCU, Rahrig will be responsible for the strategic growth and performance of the credit union’s Michigan Commercial Lending team across the entire State, including its expanding Southeast Michigan market.

“This is another step forward in our team's ongoing momentum in Commercial Lending,” said LMCU Chief Lending Officer, Ellen Steinfeld. “Between Dan’s leadership, Pete’s eye for new opportunities, and the overall strength of our ever-growing team these past several years, I’m excited to see what new relationships we’ll build with local business leaders.”

McLean, whose promotion follows the retirement of LMCU’s previous Chief Commercial Officer, Jim Maskell, is looking forward to taking up the mantle.

“Each year, I get more and more proud of LMCU’s Commercial Lending team, and I can’t wait to keep that momentum going by leading such a talented group of professionals,” McLean said. “We’re supporting Michigan and Florida businesses as they make major moves to improve their local economies, and it means a lot to help them build more, do more, and create more jobs.”
