Every August, LMCU's Band Together campaign raises money for kids' care programs at pediatric hospitals across Michigan and Florida. In 2026, our members, staff, and communities raised over $110,000 (with a $15,000 match from LMCU) benefiting 18 hospitals. Thank you to everyone who banded together with us.
Band Together
Nobody plans to spend a week in a hospital with their child. You don't budget for it, you don't schedule it, and there's no amount of preparation that makes that waiting room feel smaller. What helps — the only thing that really helps — is knowing you're not alone in it.
That's the idea behind Band Together. Every August, LMCU members, staff, and the communities we serve pool their generosity to support pediatric care programs at hospitals across Michigan and Florida. Not because anyone was asked to. Because they decided to.
What Band Together did in 2026
This past year, our community fundraiser for kids surpassed every expectation. Members donated. Staff donated. And LMCU added a $15,000 company match to make every dollar go further.
The result: $110,000 raised. Eighteen hospitals supported. Pediatric units across both states a little better equipped, a little better funded, and a lot more aware that their communities are paying attention.

How Band Together works
How Band Together works
Band Together runs every August. LMCU promotes the campaign through branches, digital channels, and internal staff communications. Members and employees donate directly, and LMCU matches a portion of the total raised.
Donations go directly to kids care programs, including pediatric equipment, patient activities, and family support services. Together, LMCU members, employees, and company contributions have raised more than $728,000 through August 2026, supporting pediatric care at hospitals across Michigan and Florida. Whenever possible, donations stay close to home, helping local hospitals invest in resources that make a real difference for children and families. Hospitals receiving funds are selected based on the communities LMCU serves, and the list has grown year over year as Band Together Support has expanded.
Participating is simple. When Band Together launches each August, watch for campaign details in your branch, in online banking, and across LMCU's social channels. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps support pediatric care and moves the total higher.
Why a credit union runs a campaign like this
Banks answer to shareholders. LMCU answers to its members — and to the communities those members live in. When over 655,000 members and 1,700 staff make up a financial institution, that institution has a responsibility that goes beyond the balance sheet.
In 2025 alone, LMCU contributed more than $4.1 million to community causes. Band Together is one piece of that — but it's the piece where members, staff, and LMCU sit at the same table and give together.
The children receiving care in those 18 hospitals belong to our communities. Showing up for them isn't a campaign strategy. It's just what neighbors do.
