Kids & Teen Club Savings Account

The best savers start before they know what saving is.

Kids Club and Teen Club are youth savings accounts built around the habit of saving early and saving often.

The earlier they start, the further they go.

Kids Club is for children 12 and under. Teen Club runs from 13 to 17. Both earn up to 3.00% APY1 on balances up to $1,000. Both make saving feel like second nature.

Prizes for good savers. Really.

Saving is its own reward. But a little extra recognition never hurts. Kids Club members can stop into any LMCU branch for a prize when they hit three savings milestones. Open the account: LMCU piggy bank. Reach $250: drawstring bag. Reach $500: water bottle. It’s our way of saying: you’re doing it right. Keep going.

Stop into any LMCU branch, schedule an appointment, or manage your account online once it’s open. A parent or guardian needs to be present to open, and you’ll need the child’s social security card.

Kids Club is open to all children 12 and under who become LMCU members with a parent or guardian. It’s a high-yield kids savings account designed to get saving started early, with rates that make every deposit worth making.Kids Club is open to all children 12 and under who become LMCU members with a parent or guardian. Teen Club is open to members ages 13–17. It’s designed to help older kids start thinking about money on their own terms: how to save it, how to grow it, and how to manage it. When a child turns 13, their Kids Club account converts to Teen Club automatically. And when they’re ready for a full adult membership, that transition is easy too.

LMCU offers two: a kids savings account called Kids Club for children 12 and under, and a teen savings account called Teen Club for ages 13–17. Both are designed to help young members develop healthy saving habits from the start. Think of them as the first chapter in a longer financial story.

Yes. Youth Savings Accounts are connected to the parent or guardian’s LMCU membership. A parent or guardian needs to be a joint owner on the entire membership. It’s a small step that keeps the account properly set up for a minor.

Three things: the child’s social security card, a parent or guardian as joint account owner, and that’s about it. There’s no minimum balance and no monthly banking requirements. Opening a Youth Savings Account is one of the easier things you’ll do for your child’s future.

Yes. Kids Club members receive their own quarterly statement showing account activity in detail. It’s a good habit to look at it together. A little transparency goes a long way when you’re teaching someone how money works.

Our Youth Savings Accounts earn up to 3.00% APY on balances from up to $1,000. Any balance above $1,000 earns at the regular savings rate on the amount over that threshold. Rates are subject to change, so check the current rates page for the latest numbers.
