Your HSA. Now with a second job.
Your HSA is already doing something smart. Once the balance clears $1,000, it can do something smarter.
Most HSAs sit passively. Yours doesn’t have to.
Your HSA holds money for healthcare when you need it. But the balance above $1,000? That part can be actively growing1 in mutual funds.
Triple tax advantage
Most accounts tax you coming in or going out. An HSA skips that entirely. All tax-free.2
One login. All of it.
Access balances, statements, and performance history. Rebalance holdings. All in one login.
19 funds. Your call.
19 mutual funds across recognized families and asset classes. Think of it as your own menu.
What is an HSA investment account?
Most people treat their HSA like a checking account for doctor bills. That works. But once your balance clears $1,000, you can put the excess to work in mutual funds, earning while it waits.
Your HSA. Invested.
Think of it as a 401(k) for your healthcare costs. Invest1 any HSA balance over $1,000 in mutual funds, let it grow tax-free2 on qualified expenses, and transfer money back to your base HSA whenever healthcare needs come up. It’s self-directed — you choose the funds, not LMCU. Mutual funds are not NCUA-insured and may lose value.
Wondering how to invest HSA money? Log in to Online Banking, click Transfers, then HSA Investments. First-time users are directed to an enrollment screen to complete a three-step setup before investing begins.
During enrollment, you’ll set your future investment elections — instructions that tell the system how to invest new money as it comes into your HSA investment account. Once elections are set, future transfers are invested automatically. You may want to consult a financial professional before making your selections.
One thing worth knowing before your first transfer: if you don’t set investment elections, new money defaults to a money market fund. To change how your balance is invested, use Realign Investment Percentages or Transfer Between Investments under Invest > Manage Portfolio. Click “Enroll Me” to complete your setup.
