I choose to work at Lake Michigan Credit Union because of their commitment to service. In my 30-plus years in the mortgage industry, I have worked at extremely large and very small banks but know I have found my home in the credit union lifestyle. I love working with homebuyers because every loan is filled with new dreams and hopes for the next phase of their life, and it is wonderful being a part of that process.
Personally, I am a serial remodeler and can always see the possibilities of what a home could be. My family often comes to me for ideas of how to “Julie-tize” a home. New construction and remodeling are my absolute favorite because those loans tend to be more complicated than the typical loan, which appeals to my problem-solving talents.
While I certainly love the easy ones (who wouldn’t?), it is the complex situations that keep me in this business year after year. When another lender tells someone that it just can’t happen for them and then I find a way, the satisfaction of knowing I made a difference is worth everything.
In my spare time, I love to travel, bike and enjoy all of the water in Northern Michigan.
