What to watch out for
Every scam leans on the same handful of tricks. Learn to spot them here, so nothing catches you off guard.
We'll never call, text or email asking for your password, PIN, full account number, Social Security number or a one-time code. If someone does, hang up and call us at (800) 242-9790. And we'll never tell you to move your money somewhere else to keep it safe. That's not something we'd ask. That's a scammer's move.
Scammers want you moving faster than you can think straight. Watch for pressure to act right now, a request to pay a specific way (gift cards, wires, money transfer apps), a story you can't verify on your own, or contact that comes out of nowhere. When in doubt, slow down. A real request can wait for you to check it out.
