What we're looking for.

A few things worth knowing before you hit submit.

These answers help you put together a stronger request and set the right expectations for what comes next.

You can submit four types of requests: sponsorships, donations, volunteer support, and community partnerships.

Event sponsorship and organizational sponsorships cover programs and community events.
Community donation requests are for nonprofits and community-based needs.
Volunteer support puts LMCU people to work alongside you. Community partnerships are broader, longer-term collaborations with organizations whose work aligns with our focus areas.

Across all four types, we're looking for opportunities that connect with education, housing, health, or economic inclusion in Michigan and Florida.

Schools, nonprofits, community organizations, and community groups serving the areas LMCU operates in are welcome to submit a community sponsorship request. This form is for organizational and community-based opportunities — not individual requests.

If you're unsure whether your organization is a fit, use our focus areas as a guide: education, housing, health, and economic inclusion. When there's a genuine connection, the review tends to go smoothly.

Before you start, have the following ready:

Your organization name and mission. The type of request — sponsorship, donation request, volunteer support, or community partnership. Event or program details — what it is, when it happens, and where. The audience you're serving and its approximate size. How the opportunity connects to the communities LMCU serves.

You don't need everything finalized to submit — but specifics help our team understand the fit and respond with confidence.

Earlier is better. Our Community Relations team reviews requests around other commitments, and some types of support — like volunteer scheduling — need more lead time than others.

If your event or program has a firm date, aim to submit your sponsorship request form at least six to eight weeks in advance. If timing is flexible, earlier still helps.

Every nonprofit sponsorship request and community donation request gets reviewed by our Community Relations team. If your opportunity looks like a strong match, we'll reach out. If we need more information to make a decision, we'll be in touch for that too.

We genuinely wish we could say yes to everything. We can't — but every request is read, and every decision is made thoughtfully based on fit, timing, and available resources.

Yes. LMCU isn't able to support individual requests, political candidates or committees, travel on behalf of organizations, or third-party fundraising benefits.

This charitable sponsorship request form is for community organizations, schools, nonprofits, and groups requesting support for eligible events, programs, volunteer opportunities, or community partnerships. If your request falls into one of the categories above, it won't be eligible — but we appreciate you reaching out.
